- Since my first message didn't generate any interest I'm going to try again!
-
- I have been playing around with the PICT Utils and have been getting some
- strange values returned for the Palette and Color Tables that the call
- GetPictInfo creates. For instance, the Palette returned contained -2900
- entries, and the Color Table was returned with (something like) 889 entries!
-
- I had a couple of questions:
-
- 1. Is there any situation where the PICT Utils can fail to return a valid
- Palette/Color Table?
-
- 2. (Assuming that I can get a valid Palette and Color Table someday) Will
- the Palette and the Color Table returned by GetPictInfo contain exactly
- the same information? If so, when would you want to get both? I.E. are
- there situations where a Palette is preferable to a Color Table and
- vice versa?
-
- 3. Will Inside Macintosh: Imaging contain this information in a more
- readable format than what is contained in IM VI?
-
-
- And finally a comment:
-
- I REALLY REALLY LIKE the new Inside Macintosh books. I love the examples,
- I love the new presentations. I bought the Overview book and really like
- it as well. I am fairly sure that for an experienced Macintosh programmer
- the Overview book is probably a waste of money, but if you are at my
- current skill level its a great introduction.
-
- GREAT JOB. (IMHO)
