- I am looking for a replacement motherboard for an IBM PS/2 Model 80-071
- (alas, even IBM's diagnostics cannot tell me exactly where the failure
- is, though apparently the 386DX is OK).
-
- IBM's price for a replacement motherboard is higher than its price for a
- new low-end 486 system. Kingston, Sigma, and other motherboard suppliers
- are only marginally less expensive.
-
- I would appreciate suggestions on where to turn for a replacement.
-
- If I am unusccessful in finding a replacement, the entire system will be for
- sale on an as-is basis:
- IBM PS/2 Model 80-071 (tower model with lots of empty slots and bays)
- 386DX 16 Mz (functioning fine)
- 2 MB additional memory on daughter boards
- 70 MB hard disk (ESDI)
- 3.5" diskette drive (1.44 Mb)
- IBM enhanced keyboard
- IBM 8503 monochrome monitor
- cables/cords
