- My brother wants to buy a new computer. He wants to run 'heavy' software
- as big jobs in Mathematica and a numerical evaluation program. This kind
- of jobs are very calculate sensitive. But they also work with large
- matrices so they have to do lots of memoryaccess. (The arrays are larger
- than the cache).
-
- Now he is wondering, what wil run faster for him, a 486 DX-50 MhZ who can
- faster access memory (on 50 MhZ) or a 486 DX2-66 MhZ whose processor runs
- faster, but access to memory is at 33 MhZ. The prices doesn't differ mutch,
- at least here in holland, so he is just wondering.
-
- Thanks in Advance,
-
- Andre
-
- I will post a summery if there is enough e-mail reply.
