- I just installed Stacker 3.0 on my Hard Drive, and it appears to be working
- fine. However, there is a recurring problem that is making me a bit
- nervous, so I'd appreciate any advice or information that anyone can give me
- regarding it.
- I am running a 486/33 with a 212meg HD. I stacked 60 megs of free
- space and made it drive d:, I then proceeded to stack another 60 megs from
- c: drive and made it e:.
- Okay, the problem is relatively simple: with some consistency, I am
- getting read errors off of both of my stacked drives. I will try to run a
- file, and will get beeped, saying "Read error" with the Abort etc, message.
- If I retry a couple of times, then the problem seems to disappear. It has
- happened with a number of files...but not every time I run the file. When I
- run check on the stacked drive, it reports no errors. when I run NDD on my
- C: drive, it reports no errors. Chkdsk also, on all 3 of the drives, c:,
- d:, and e:, reports no errors. This is making me nervous, so again, any
- help or comment would be greatly appreciated.
- E-mail replies appreciated, but not required. :-)
-
- Thank you.
