  11. I'm looking for software that supports my personal logbook system. While my
  12. current system (big lab notebooks) works well for documentation, it's horrible
  13. for retrieval.

  15. I doodle a lot in my logbooks -- lots of text, but also lots of
  16. illustrations and equations, and circling text, margin notes, etc. I'd
  17. like to preserve as much of that kind of freedom as possible, but add
  18. the capability of *text search* to facilitate retrieval.

  20. The closest I've seen so far to what I want is a good word processor
  21. with a good draw program. But the cutting and pasting is not seamless
  22. enough; I can't overlap the draw section with the text section; and I
  23. can't draw sketches (don't ask me to sketch with a mouse!).

  25. Got one suggestion for MathCad. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks.
