- Agreed. Most Amiga users dont find much reason to badmouth IBMs simply because
- theres no need to... as Rodney King put it, "Can we all get along?" .. We, for
- the most part, dont consider the MSDOS market a threat. Those of us who are
- familliar with the inner-workings of their machines and other systems know
- beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Amiga is VASTLY superior at the hardware
- level--however it lacks the sheer quantity of software the MSDOS market enjoys.
- Thats why products like Bridgeboards came about. To us, Windows 3.1 seems a
- fairly modest addept to jump up to the level Amiga users have enjoyed for years
- now..Windows is to the MSDOS world what Geos was to the Commodore-64 ..Just a
- new way to do the same old thing, and kept the machine alive and kicking for
- another few years.
-
- The computer industry moves too quickly to hang onto virtually non-upgradable
- architectures..Luckilly, Amiga and Mac users have been blessed with
- architectures that are, for the most part, capable of aquiring new technology
- as it comes. Unfortunately, MSDOS is not. We have no beef with IBM users--its
- just weve got this shiny little jewel that virtually NOBODY knows about.. and
- the human thing to do is to assume "Well, if its unpopular, it must suck." ...
- Hence the "game machine" image of the Amiga, which is primarrily based on lack
- of knowledge. Lets not forget who had the equivalent of a "local bus" FIRST..

- Thanks for your comments, too.. The only raving flames I recieved as a result
- of my posting the original message were from raving idiot who found it
- necessary to send -3- pieces of netmail to me in one day, each one more
- illogical (not to mention FUNNY in a pathetic kinda way..) than the next.
