- Just installed a Micropolis Model 2105-A IDE hard disk as a
- master to another drive. Everything is peachy in DOS, but
- now when I try to use Windows 3.1 and use the 32 bit access
- I get an error saying "This program tried to access your
- hard disk in a way that is incompatible with the 32 bit access
- feature (WDCTRL)..."
-
- At any rate, everything else works fine. The drive the Micropolis
- replaces was a Maxtor 213Mb (now we upgraded to the Micr. 560Mb)
-
- Any ideas on what foobared the 32 bit Access? The Drive? The Master-
- Slave Config? The Master? The Slave? The fact that I restored a
- backup of the old hd to the new?
-
- Ps - Windows works fine in no 23 bit access mode.
- PSS - Every now and then the Micropolis drive gurgles - is it repositionng or what?
-
- Ugh - Im going to bed. Hope to hear from you soon.
- Tim
