Hi,
I know all these queries will not apply to all groups, but I really need some help with a college project I am just starting. I am intending to write a
MIDI 'tutor' in C or C++ and, if needed, Assembler. I have a Casio CZ1 synth
with MIDI in/out/thru, and a 286 IBM clone PC. What I need to know is what I
need to get them talking.
I have heard of the MPU-401 but apparently you need an additional card
inside the PC to use it, is this true ? Also Ive heard you can get MIDI
interfaces that simply connect to the PC by the 9 pin mouse port or printer
port. Which is easiest, and cheapest ? Also, how do I address the relevant
port/board in C, C++ or Assembler( if needed) to send out data.
All help, or pointers to help will be greatly appreciated !
