  14. Hi,
  15. I know all these queries will not apply to all groups, but I really need some help with a college project I am just starting. I am intending to write a 
  16. MIDI 'tutor' in C or C++ and, if needed, Assembler. I have a Casio CZ1 synth
  17. with MIDI in/out/thru, and a 286 IBM clone PC. What I need to know is what I
  18. need to get them talking.

  20. I have heard of the MPU-401 but apparently you need an additional card
  21. inside the PC to use it, is this true ? Also Ive heard you can get MIDI
  22. interfaces that simply connect to the PC by the 9 pin mouse port or printer
  23. port. Which is easiest, and cheapest ? Also, how do I address the relevant
  24. port/board in C, C++ or Assembler( if needed) to send out data.
