- I've been corresponding with a couple of people about the Orchid
- Fahrenheit VLB card (an S3 local bus card) and would like to broaden
- this to others on the net.
-
- I have one in a CONTAQ/UMC motherboard 66MHz DX2, UltraStor 34F LB
- SCSI. My system has the following problems:
-
- In Windows in some modes (notably 1024x768x256) if a window is made
- more than about half the screen height when it is dragged the outline
- box leave vertical lines on the screen. Also happens with the cut
- box in Windows Paint.
-
- In Windows with some color schemes (e.g. Pastel) the background is
- partially filled with a pattern of dots, this can also happen in
- applications with large color filled areas.
-
- In Windows occasionally the mouse cursor picks up a small box (about
- 64x64 square) of the screen which follows it around for a while then
- disappears.
-
- Some non-windows programs cannot use the VESA extended VGA modes.
- They work with DesignCAD 3D, DeluxePaint II Enhanced fails totally.
-
- One person I got mail from has an AIR EISA motherboard with the same
- problems I have.
-
- Another has an AIR presumably ISA motherboard, no other local bus
- cards, and no windows problems however he gets moving static on GIF
- images and cannot get vpic or cshow to work.
-
- Anyone else using this card - please post your experience good or bad.
- Please state what motherboard, processor speed, other cards on the local
- bus.
-
- Thanks
-
