  12. I am in the market for a good AVI card/software package for the PC for a 
  13. specific purpose.

  15. I want to use it (mainly) to subtitle videotapes/LDs that are in Japanese
  16. in English.  I have other uses, mainly software-based ones (i.e., editing
  17. imported video images, etc.) but the main use if for subtitling.

  19. I saw an ad in PC Magazine (latest issue) for a new package from Creative
  20. Labs and MS called Video Blaster.  I know the Video Blaster is an AVI card
  21. from Creative Labs, but now they are including some software:  MS Video for
  22. Windows, Tempra, and Action!

  24. I was wondering:  is this a suitable package for what I want to do?  I have in
  25. mind using a complete script of dislogue (text) and timing it out to real-time
  26. video.  Hopefully, you'd be able to time the script to run automatically,
  27. but that's nice, not necessary.

  29. Also, is the Video Blaster card a good AVI card?  Does it double as a video
  30. (VGA/SVGA) card?  How good is the resolution?  Is it worth it?
