- I bought a Comtrade ISA DX2/66 VL-bus machine about two weeks ago; I am
- satisfied with it. Performance is good, machine feels very comfortable,
- etc. The bus is the VESA standard local bus. I have their 'Turbo' card,
- which is a Cirrus Logic GD5422 model. It's true that their 'Viper' card
- is not the Diamond Viper... but it is also true that they have been using
- the name longer than Diamond. I do recommend you ask what particular
- chipset the card you're interested in is using; for example, my machine
- arrived with the Cirrus Logic chipset, while I had been expecting the
- Tseng ET-4000... not enough difference to scream about, but unexpected.
-
- The only problem I have had with the machine to date is with the 3.5"
- floppy drive, which, although TEAC, is giving lots of errors... the tech
- immediately offered to send me a new one when I called; I'll let the net
- know if something untoward should occur.
