- No problems with them I can see.

- The "flickering" problem you mention, first of all, isn't a problem. This is
- just the monitor attempting to since up to the new frequency after changing
- video mode. This is normal. However, the icons disappearing is NOT normal.
- Since you have the Gateway machine, this must mean you have only one meg of
- memory on the Pro card, no? If so, run the INSTALL program and set the VIDEO
- MEMORY SIZE in the SET POWER UP CONFIGURATION menu to 512K, NOT SHARED! Next,
- make sure you have high graphics selected in your PIF's for the DOS app's.
- Also, make sure you have BUILD 53 of the driver (use the Flexdesk control
- panel, and at the bottom of the control panel are two numbers, the number in
- brackets is the build number). If not, call ATI's BBS (+1 416 756 0718) or
- Compuserve (GO ATITECH, LIB 17) and download PRO53.ZIP. This automatically
- installs over top of the currently installed drivers. As I was saying, if all
- else fails, set VGAShared= in the MACH32 section of WIN.INI to OFF. One of
- these things should do it. If not, you can always email ATI at
- 74740.667@compuserve.com.
-
- > 8. Can the ATI Ultra Pro produce 24bit color at any resolution? Which?
-
- With Build 53 for a Windows driver, you can edit your WIN.INI to make this
- happen. Of course, you will first need to buy the second meg of memory and the
- 24-bit color RAMDAC upgrades to make this work. Gateway ships the card with
- only 1Meg and a 16-bit color RAMDAC. Either Gateway or ATI can sell these to
- you.
-
- I am familiar with ATI products, hence, this is the reason, I have left your
- other questions alone.
-
- Hope this helps.
