- Being the pack rat that I am, I was picking through Rensselaer's trash
- today when I came across some beautiful finds. The school just
- retired an IBM machine running VM/CMS. We found a completely stripped
- case and some IBM input devices: keyboards and digitizer tablets!
-
- The devices are from "IBM 5080 graphics displays".
-
- the keyboards have:
-
- 24 function keys across the top
- 10 goofy keys on the left
- arrow keys on right, but no numeric keypad
- APL characters printed in red on some of the keys
- increadibly sturdy construction
- 15 pin female port
- 24 pin male port
-
- part # 6248413
- ID # 313x h8786
- date 21-1984
-
- the digitizer tablets have
-
- missing pucks
- 9 pin male port
- 9 pin male cable
- increadibly sturdy construction
-
- type 5083 1
- s/n 27906
- date 1980
-
- I plan to write to Big Blue soon, but i would like to find out where I
- can find any tech specs. Is it possible to adapt these to a PC? Can
- I get a replacement puck for the digitizer? Can I get a driver?
-
- thanks,
-
