  17. No, Mike. From experience I know that in some cases, CMS drives will 
  18. either not format or read "alien" tapes. 8) Sounds like a rendition from 
  19. DS9, eh? But it's true. I have several tapes which my Jumbo 120 will not 
  20. format or read, yet when I put the tapes in my Irwin drive, they work 
  21. fine with no bad blocks. 
  22. It's true, and it's probably, as you observed, someone scratching someone 
  23. else's back...
