  10. Any help here would definitely be appreciated. I have a 286 clone machine with
  11. a Western Digital 40Meg drive. Often lately, when booting up, I get an error
  12. upon initialization of the hard drive controller. The disk does not spin up.
  13. I can get it going by taking off the cover and "fiddling" with the drive and
  14. controller card. Is this an easily fixable problem? Is it the drive or the
  15. card? I suspect the drive. Someone suggested I re-install DOS, which I will try
  16. tonight... any other suggestions? BTW, the drive sounds like R2D2 when it's
  17. being accessed, which may or may not be related to my troubles...
