  11. My computer just recently started displaying dots (lit up single pixels) in
  12. a line about 2/3 of the way down the screen, and in other random places on
  13. the screen.  These dots don't go away even if I reset the computer, and
  14. they are present in the BIOS setup screen.  If anyone has any ideas about
  15. what kind of problem this might be, or how to diagnose it, please e-mail
  16. me.  My setup is:

  18. 386/40 Motherboard w/ AMI BIOS and Forex chipset
  19. Northman SVGA 4MVD monitor
  20. Trident TVGA-8900 Vga card with 1 meg ram
  21.  
  22. I've also booted the machine under both MSDOS and 386BSD Unix, and the dots
  23. exist in both, so I doubt that it is a virus.  I believe it is either in
  24. 1) the screen
  25. 2) the vga card
  26. or
  27. 3) the bios
  28.  
  29. Any suggestions, comments, or replies will be a big help.
  30.  
  31. P.S.  Also, the dots only appear on certain letters in certain locations
  32. on the screen.
