  13. I have got an 'UMAX-UG80' flatbed scanner, 300 dpi, 256 gray
  14. levels. The interface is a simple SCSI controller.
  15.  
  16. The MS-Windows software which came with the scanner uses an MS-DOS device
  17. driver which seems to understand some kind of standard scanner
  18. language.
  19. What commands does the scanner understand and where can I get a 
  20. description of these commands ?
  21. Can I get real grayscale output from the scanner ? (The software
  22. gives me dithered b&w pictures, but not true grayscale).
