- You need to know whether you have a TTL monochrome monitor with
- Hercules compatibility, or an RS-170 (aka NTSC) monochrome monitor.

- If your system "thinks" that you have a CGA monitor by virtue of the
- fact that this board is emulating it, then no problem, right?
-
- >I think cga has 2 colors right?
- No, a CGA monitor has 16 colors.
-

- This question throws me off because above you state that you are doing
- CGA emulation in which case I would think that you should already be
- telling your BIOS that you have a color monitor.
-
- There are a bunch of different CGA emulators for Hercules type
- monitors at wuarchive.wustl.edu in the /mirrors/msdos/screen
- directory.
-
- By the way, I have a similar situation in reverse. I have a TTL type
- monitor that I am running off of an ATI Graphics Solution card. This
- card can run a CGA monitor directly and only in CGA mode. It can
- also run a TTL monitor in Hercules mode, IBM Monochrome Text mode or
- in CGA emulation mode. You can either configure with switches or in
- software that is provided with the board. The board comes with
- configuration software as well as several software specific drivers
- (i.e Lotus, Wordstar and Framework). Even though I just got the
- board six months ago, its an older product ( date of manual= Sept. 89).
-
- I am posting instead to see if others can add to this.
