  27. You know, I've had a similar experience with a Maxtor 7130 
  28. drive. When first installed Checkit gave it a 700+k transfer
  29. rate. Its now dropped down to 350 or so.

  31. I wonder if the automatic sector substitution (where the drive 
  32. will move stuff from a bad sector to a reserved, good sector) 
  33. has kicked in. Its supposed to be transparent. Yes, I have been 
  34. doing disk optimization.
