- Although im probably grasping at straws with this one, here goes:
-
- A few months ago, i purchased my 486/33 AMI bios machine through the
- classified ads in the local paper. It is populated with 8 1MEG simms, filling
- all of the slots. I am interested in adding memory, going to 4meg simms,
- the problem is that i have no documentation for the mother board. Are there
- jumpers or something that have to be set when changing the memory
- configuration? The most likely candidate i see for something like this is a
- set of four dip switches, all set to the same position for the current config.
- There is no manufacturer name on the motherboard (as far as i can see).. are
- there any IC's that i could look for that might give me a hint as to how those
- switches should be set if i add memory? (or if they have anything at all to do
- with the memory?) If anyone out there would be willing to help, please email.
