- I posted above about the possible systems that I am going to purchase and I
- left out a few important questions.
- Addendum:
- 1.) Is having 8 megs of RAM that important?? I plan on running windows
- software and some DOS stuff. All the machines I have looked at come with 4
- megs.
- 2.) Is a 170 meg HD large enough for a machine today? Originally the machines
- I was looking at came with 130 Meg HDs, but I heard that the average windows
- prog is 8 meg so I upgraded a bit.
- 3.) I am considering all local bus systems, but have a choice between an
- ET-4000 card and a Genoa card. The ET-4000 gets around 4 WinMarks, whereas the
- Genoa gets 29 WinMarks. That seems like a dramatic difference to me, but I am
- unfamiliar with the WinMark test and don't know what that would translate to in
- actual "speed" benefit. Can anyone help here?
