  13. Are current IDE drives able to handle local bus speeds?

  15. I have a 213 MB maxtor, a 286-25, and a 12.5 mhz bus speed, and I have
  16. no video or drive problems.  I had a friend's 120 mb maxtor in as
  17. a second drive for a time, and it didn't work properly at 12.5 mhz,
  18. but it did work at 8 mhz.  I can't see the IDE card as being the
  19. problem, as it works fine for the 213 mb drive.

  21. If some IDE drives don't work with a bus frequency higher than 8 mhz,
  22. how can they benefit from being in a local bus interface?
