- I am trying to get this Jombo Colorado 250 to format a tape and am
- having no luck. I have read the postings here and am having no luck. I
- have a 33 MHz 486 clone (AMI bios). The LIM 4.0 option was set to N and
- the dual DMA option was set to N as was suggested in the postings. The
- most complex TSR I have is the mouse driver. I have the regular stuff
- that people have for windows, a ramdrive, a MSCDEX, SHARE, etc, but no
- screen savers or disc cache stuff.
-
- I tried the format for 5 hours and it was still running when I did the
- three finger salute to stop it. I have tried 2 backup programs, 2
- tapes, and 2 drives (took one back). It runs fairly smoothly for 1
- hour, then seems to go into an endless loop of forward for 1 to 5
- seconds, then reverse for about 1 second then it starts over. Note that
- the 1 to 5 sec represents a variability of actual time. But it is not
- doing nothing as the tape moves from one spool to the other about every
- hour.
-
- I just know that if I call the 800 number someone will tell me to try
- something that won't work and I will wait 30 minuites that time and
- another to call back. Please help, Thanks in advance, Allen
