- Roll a 6-10 foot extension card in a loop, about 1 foot diameter.
- (anything from 8" or so ... a shape convenient to hold in the hand
- and still maintain a loop). Plug one end into the AC outlet.
-
- Move the coil of wire around your screen in a circular pattern
- (once is usually enough) but when you come to the end of your
- circle, slowly draw the coil of wire away from the screen.
-
- or simply pull out the plug from the outlet.
-
- TV sets used to have a coil of wire around the tube and get activated
- every time one turned the set on for a few seconds and automatically
- disconnected from the AC source (internally). On some sets you could
- hear the thing.
-
- The above method is the way you use a "degaussing coil". 'Course
- you don't connect the other end of the extension cord.
