- I just found out yesterday that my 5.25" floppy drive has a strange problem:
- it displays the information (at least the file names) of previous disk rather
- than current one. Say for example I insert a floppy disk 1 into drive, and
- type dir a:, screen will display the information of floppy disk 1, no problem
- so far. Next I take the disk 1 out and insert a disk 2 into drive, now the
- probelm comes: if I type dir a: again, screen will display the information of
- disk 1 rather than disk 2. If I switch to dirve b: and come back, it works
- fine again. I really don't know it is the problem of the drive or the
- controller. I would live with it other than I can't install the game from a:
- anymore (it keeps asking me to insert disk 2 while disk 2 is in the drive). I
- bought a new game with only 5.25" disks, I really like to play it. Besides,
- this problem might cause some even bigger damage. On and on, help please.
- E-mail preferred, but I will keep my eyes open for any responds posted.
- My computer system: 486/33 with following: two floppy disks, a cd-rom, a
- modem, a sound-blast pro., a joystick, a mouse and a printer. Also my system
- is equipped with local bus (both video and IO), could this be the problem?
- Help! Help! Help!
