  28.    First suggestion is to check out one of the *NIX newsgroups.  There is even a
  29. Unix clone buyer's guide floating around out there.  
  30.    Next: There are at least two 'freeware' *NIX systems out there, Linux and
  31. bsd.  Both are very good although by what I hear. I have not had the
  32. opportunity to play with bsd yet but I have played with Linux.  Linux, though,
  33. is still very new and bsd is a little more stable.  
  34.    Also available is XFree. A freeware X Windows system.  I have used it a
  35. little and found it to be pretty good.  
  36.    Again, I would suggest finding one of the FAQs in the various newsgroups
  37. related to these two and UNIX in general. They would tell you where to look and
  38. give you some hints as to which way you should go.
