  12. I am talking to GW2000's add-ons people (really -- I'm on hold at the moment,
  13. and listening to Roy Orbison...) about software upgrades.  They are apparently
  14. ready to ship WinFax Pro 3.0 and a new version of Crosstalk, for those of you
  15. who ordered the TelePath FAX/modem.  Since my system is so new, the upgrades
  16. are *free*!

  18. In general, we are responsible for keeping tabs on upgrades for S/W we got
  19. through GW2000, so keep your noses in the Computer Mags and maybe even post
  20. when you notice an upgrade announcement...  I know that this is questionable,
  21. since this is comp.sys.ibm.pc.HARDWARE, but it is software that our HARDWARE
  22. vendor is supplying -- maybe.  Yes, maybe.  I just got off the phone, and the
  23. rep I was talking to said that she'd just been told that GW2000 carries
  24. upgrades AT THEIR DISCRETION -- i.e., they're under no obligation to do so --
  25. and gives free upgrades on the same basis.  I'll have to wait 5-6 WEEKS for
  26. the free WinFax and Crosstalk upgrades (unless I successfully sweet-talked
  27. the add-on rep), but they will be free.

  29. For S/W that GW2000 chooses not to supply, you contact the vendor, and tell
  30. them that your S/W is licensed to GW2000, and they should treat you like a
  31. registered user (i.e., not charge you through the nose).

  33. I think that I saw someone mention CMS tape S/W verion 3.03?  The one I got
  34. was 2.0.  Also, I believe that I saw mention of DOS 6.0 due in 1Q93?
