- Since the object here is segmenting the list, I would like to suggest
- that there be a SEPARATE set of groups for ISA, EISA, and VESA local_bus
- SPECIFIC questions/comments, within the naming structure. Questions about
- ATI's local_bus cards do not interest those without local_bus. And EISA-
- specific (or MCA-specific) questions interest almost no one -- why wade
- through them?
-
- Perhaps --

- As for the pc/intel/x86 debate, my first microcomputer was an 8080,
- and I've worked with machines containing dec, intel, hp and other
- microprocessors -- all of them personal computers, in my view --
- but the term 'pc' HAS become identified with 'IBM PC and compatibles,'
- so I don't object to using 'pc' in the newsgroup name. Pentium is
- still in the x86 family, but there are non-IBM-compatible x86 machines
- (anybody remember the Victor 9000?) and there are non-x86 processors
- in the 'intel' line, such as the i860.
-
- Lets focus on how to 'divide' the newsgroup on hardware. Please?
