  13. Who knows which is and where is the ROM character generator chip for the CGA
  14. display in a NEC Ultralife 286f notebook?

  16. Who knows if such chips are in general interchangeable between machines of
  17. different makes?

  19. The issue behind the questions is to produce Hebrew characters instead of
  20. "national" characters on such a notebook, hopefully by just replacing the
  21. ROM chip with something otherwise compatible.

  23. Or is it technically conceivable (and perhaps readily available off the shelf
  24. somewhere) to fake the ROM by software?
