- I need to transfer (on a continuing basis) small text files to and from
- a laptop with only a working parallel port (the serial port is dead).
- I was hoping to get 95% effectiveness using a parallel-to-parallel
- connection. This would let me use the laptop as a portable text
- processor, at least. It is apparently impossible to easily fix
- the serial port, as the system is out of production/support/"we
- don't even wanna talk about fixing that piece of junk...". So,
- anyone have experience with this (BTW, I've seen the device that
- "makes your LPT: port a COM: port - for the price I'd just buy a
- working laptop. Thanks for any hints!
-
- OBJ HINT: Don't buy really cheap unless you can throw it out when
- it breaks.
