- Hi,
-
- I am thinking about getting a second IDE hard drive. My current configuration is
- that I have 2 floppies, and a single 80Meg (18ms) IDE hard drive. Is it pretty
- simple to get another IDE drive and plug it right in? I heard that I may have to
- worry about putting the faster one as the boot drive, or something like that.
-
- Also, I am thinking about getting a tape backup drive. Does anybody have any
- good recommendations? Things that I'm concerned about are:
- * Speed
- * Price (of course!)
- * Being able to easily plug it into my system
- The last point above is crucial. Does these tape drives come with their own
- card, or do they plug into the existing card (mine is going to be full), or can I
- use one of those fancy parallel port SCSI devices?
-
- Any help is much appreciated!! Please send replies to 'gt8389a@prism.gatech.edu'
- or post a follow-up article.
-
- Thanks again,
-
