- I ordered my 66V system on Nov. 92, and am still waiting for it. Tomorrow it'll
- be 11 weeks for me, too, unless it arrives today, but I've long stopped torturing
- myself with futile optimism that "gosh, maybe TODAY it will arrive". It'll come
- when it'll come.
-
- To be fair to Gateway, part of the reason for the delay was initial unavailability of
- the CD-ROM and 16-Meg SIMMs. When I found out in December that the CD-ROM was
- causing the delay, I cancelled it, and may have caused more delay due to paperwork.
- Had I known the snafu the CD-ROM could cause, I would never have ordered it in the
- first place.
-
- My conclusion from reading this newsgroup is that you are most likely to receive your
- system in the promised 3-week time if you don't ask for any extras or modifications.
-
- Had I known the delay would be so long, I might just have paid $500 more for a Zeos.
- These delivery problems are making me nervous about how good Gateway's after-sales
- service will be.
-
- If anyone at Gateway is reading this, what assurance can you give this newsgroup that
- "troubles are temporary"?
