  11. The 48 is crippled in its receiver and the modulation technique used
  12. (none).  I have heard rumours of people increasing the range
  13. significantly but have never seen any hardware.  I build a little data
  14. acquisition system for the HP-48 that goes over the IR for isolation.  I
  15. can tell you that 2 inches with the 48 is tough.  There are a bunch of
  16. tradeoffs, the biggest being ambient light immunity.  Good luck- if you
  17. here any different, let me know.  The ADCM-48 could use a 4 ft range!
