- This is the situation:

- There are two systems hp9000/845 and hp9000/847
- the 845 was used to run an application (which is not important)
- then the application was moved to the 847 (upgrade)
- the passwd file on the 845 was moved over to the 847
- in the begining the files were the same now they are not
- one system may have users which are not on the other system

- since the 847 does not have many ports as the 845 some users login in
- thru the 845 then rlogin into the 847. this is transparent to the users
- if a user changes his password on the 847 the password on the 845 remains
- the same. hence my problem. the users do not have direct access to the
- 845 because as soon as they log in they are automatically logged in to
- the 847.

- is there a way to change the password on the 845 from the 847.
- e.g. remsh command, script. any help would be appreciated.
- I have tried different things but would like to hear your suggestions.
