  38.     The above will work. Your best bet is to get another HP DAT of like
  39. type and put it on his Sun. (2GB 35470A, or 8GB 35480A). Make sure the firmware
  40. rev level is at least 8.0 or 9.09 and properly configured for the Sun Sparc     
  41. SCSI bus environment (We make them if you cant find drive config'd for Sun as
  42. opposed to HP workstations). Then tar will be compatible across the HP to Sun
  43. and back.

  45. DONT use another type like Archive DAT or WangXXX DAT drives because they have
  46. problems with read/write compatibility with HP DAT drives (HP is of course the
  47. superior one).

  49.     You could drag the drive from one machine to another but I dont 
  50. recommend it because it requires internal and firmware modifacation to be
  51. compatible with the Sun Workstation. Really too much work ripping apart the 
  52. drive on a regular basis. Not to mention wear and tear on the HP and Sun
  53. workstations SCSI buses.
