  12. The Kodak PhotoCD format has several unique features.  First, it requires
  13. CDROM-XA compatible drive and driver.  Also, the disc does not have a
  14. filesystem in the HP-UX sense...it requires special software to read the
  15. files.  The files are compressed and stored in Kodak-proprietary formats
  16. which require software libraries from Kodak to read and display.

  18. Until recently, no CDROM drive/driver combination could read multisession
  19. discs. This is true of both the Mac and PC platforms as well as Un*x boxes.
  20. Several manufacturers of CDROM drives and drivers are adding this capability,
  21. which often requires hardware or firmware support within the drive.  So far,
  22. no products have been announced by HP that will support PhotoCD discs.
