  11. I can look at a DOS floppy OK.
  12. I can tar to the /dev/floppy device.
  13. but I cannot create a new filesystem on the floppy and mount it.  Is
  14. this normal?

  16. /dev/floppy is a link to /dev/rdsk/0s0 and all of the device numbers and
  17. permissions look OK.  It is OK physically since I can do other things
  18. with the floppy disks.  I have tried a mediainit and a newfs and they
  19. just hang the disk in a state where I cannot kill the process.  I have
  20. to eject the floppy and let it abort on its own.
