  14. We have a HP9000/827 running HP-UX 8.02. We want to use it as a
  15. frontend to external connections. We are now trying to connect
  16. modems to the machine but have had a number of troubles with that
  17. and I do not know if we should change our concept. We do not want
  18. to waste all this time every time we have to connect a new modem.

  20. HP has advised us to use the Bell Standard instead of CCITT and it
  21. seems to help. But we have a HP9000/857 where we have problems with
  22. a modem set up as a Bell modem.
