- To boot a 700 in single-user mode do the following:
-
- - interrupt the auto-boot sequence by hitting the ESCAPE key
- You will get this menu:
-
- b) Boot from specified device
- s) Search for bootable devices
- a) Enter Boot Administration mode
- x) Exit and continue boot sequence
- ?) Help

- Select from menu:
-
- - select the boot device and tell the system to boot ISL by
- typing "b p0 isl" at the above prompt (p0 should be your boot disk).
- This will result in:
-
- Trying scsi.6.0
- Boot path initialized.
- Attempting to load IPL.

- Hard Booted.

- ISL Revision ...................

- ISL>

- - at the ISL> prompt type "hpux -is boot disc(;0)/hp-ux"
- This will boot hp-ux in single-user mode.
