- Hi,
-
- I just got a new Seagate ST11200N hard disk for our HP720.
- The manual indicates:
- Capacity: 1248 MB (unformatted)
- 1054 MB (formatted)
- Cylinders: 1872
- Heads: 15
- Sectors/track 74 (avg.)
-
- I have used the following settings in /etc/disktab:
- SEAGATE_11200N:\
- :54 MB reserved for swap:ns#37:nt#15:nc#1772:\
- :s0#983460:b0#8192:f0#1024:\
- :se#512:rm#5411:
-
- and I managed to format the disk. Then SAM tells me:
-
- Card Bus Unused/Total File System
- Device File Usage Slot Address (Kbytes) Swap (Kbytes)
-
- /dev/dsk/5s0 swap 0 5 45419
- /dev/dsk/5s0 hfs 0 5 857916/953250 0
-
- This is the first time I do that on a unix workstation and I am just
- wondering if different settings would give me slightly more capacity .
- I don't want to just blindly try changing the parameters.
-
- Is anyone using this drive? Please send advice to
- carlier@pressure.eng.yale.edu
-
- Thanks in advance
- Claude
