  24. I don't claim that I KNOW the answer, but I can make a GUESS:

  26. ENET ADRS sounds pretty much like "EtherNET ADdReSs", don't you think ?
  27. I would guess this is a way of keeping you EtherNet hardware address.

  29. And why would you want to do that ? Well, several software developers use the
  30. EtherNet HW address in a primitve licensing scheme to ensure you only run their
  31. stuff on the one machine you bought it for. By retaining the address chip, you
  32. can still run the software on the new machine. (You might still be breaking
  33. the licence agreement, though, if it also is capacity based.)
