The only way to run highly interactive but still compute intensive programs
like ConvexAVS satisfactorily in a Share scheduler environment, is by
getting enough shares.
Since you probably will not get that many shares for normal use, you might
have to think of ways, or start discussions to achieve a way, to run
AVS as a special share (pseudo-)user, similar to the pseudo-users network
and daemon.
You would need enough privileges to run 'slxqt AVS_user -x avs'.
