- Lower the SCSI ID of your hard drive. All drives draw a lot of power when
- they are starting up, and if your drive's power supply isn't really hefty
- then it might take too long to be ready for SCSI commands. Since the Ramfast
- scans from 7 down to 0, you can give the drive more time to be ready by
- lowering its ID. The Quantum 100 I have is like this, so I keep it at ID 4
- or so and while I still get the message for five/ten seconds I can turn
- everything on at once and it will all come up the first time.
