- Sorry about that, folks. My local gateway acts up about the Keywords: stuff.
- Oh, well. Here it is.
- Under GS/OS 5.04 (and earlier), The custom-made icons for my nifty apps and
- data files show up just fine. When I boot System 6.0, I lose some of my icons
- (probably to embedded rIcon resources) while others work fine. The questions:
-
- 1. Can I tell System 6.0 to ignore the rIcon resources and use the icons in the
- ICON files instead? (perhaps with a patch)
-
- 2. When I switch back to 5.04, I lose the Finder.Data icon locations (i.e. the
- system puts the icons back wherever it wants). Can I prevent this by locking
- any of the Finder droppings files (Finder.=)?
-
- 3. What does the Finder.Root file do (other than show up every time I run an
- app from the desktop)?
-
- 4. Is there some way to keep the Finder.Root file from disappearing when I
- run an app. from another volume, or shutdown from the finder menu (short
- of telling the finder to hide the Finder droppings?
-
- 5. Referring to # 1 above. If I can't make a patch, can I remove the rIcon
- resource (with a resource editor/compiler like Rez)?
