-
- yup, I have one....
-
- of course, saying is "doubles the speed" is a little misleading
- as 14 MHz is little more than twice as fast as 2.8 MHz....Now, a better
- statement would be is doubles the speed of of a 7 MHz Transwarp GS,
- which, by the way, you'll need before wasting your money on the chip.
-
- Can't say that it will work on a Zip without modifications, but I'm
- sure if you call Zip, they can tell your what need.
-
- The cost? Around $80 to $100, plus another $10 or so for a crystal, which
- I forgot to mention you'll also need....
-
- Oh, one caveat, just because mine runs a 13.75MHz, don't expect yours
- to, the chips are only rated at around 12 MHz...you'll have to be damn
- luckly like I was and get a chip (or maybe I got a good TWGS) that
- will go all the way w/o problems...I should add, though, that for $100,
- it was darn fine investment...
-
- oh, add a 32k cache to the TWGS along with the chip, then you'll really
- cruise....
