  11. The pen mask doesn't affect font drawing.  I think what you're supposed to
  12. do (I think this is what the tools do, you can verify it by stepping
  13. through a call that handles drawing a dimmed item) is draw the text
  14. normally, then use a rectangle call on top of the text to make it dimmed
  15. (can't remember the specific call though).
