  13. Hey folks...been quite a while since I've posted here.  I have been really busy
  14. with things and well, the rest is history.  I've just set myself up here with
  15. TRN and other wonderful little things, but I need to compile ELM and TIN on my
  16. NeXT at school which is proving to be somewhat difficult.

  18. So, after that late-nite splub, I guess I'll get to my question.  I'm working 
  19. with some animation now...finally!  I was having problems with a phantom 
  20. bug before.  I needed to clear out the super-hi-res screen before I did
  21. anything to it...the problem was that I was clearing out the SHR screen and
  22. then flipping the SHR screen on...this was causing ghost pixels to get lit up
  23. at the bottom of the screen but ONLY when I ran the program for the first time
  24. after launching into GNO.  I go to GNO from Prosel, run my program, and the 
  25. first time I do, the screen is a little messed on the bottom...but every
  26. subsequent run after that works fine.

  28. This continued until someone told me that I needed to flip the SHR screen on
  29. first...then clear it.  I am doing that now and it's working.  The only problem
  30. is that you can see what was on the SHR screen before and that makes for a
  31. rough transition.  Just a split-second before the SHR screen comes up, it's
  32. there and it's annoying.  Can someone help me come up with a way to blank the
  33. screen without having to deal with this problem?  I want to blank the screen
  34. then flip the SHR screen on...that way, I'm switching to a blank screen and
  35. not one with stuff already on it...smooth.

  37. I've done this checking for VBL, and that also didn't work...I've tried a lot
  38. of things, so let's hope I hear something new here.
