  30.    Well, I can only say that it did for me! One time I used
  31.    dillon@overload.berkeley.ca.us, and that one bounced, while
  32.    dillon@overload.Berkeley.CA.US did not.

  34. yes, somebody reminded me that mail routing is not done the same way as
  35. hostname->IP translation, which just throws a wonderful wrench into
  36. trying to figure out what the hell one is doing.

  38. if i remember the RFC right, the case isn't supposed to matter.  but then
  39. again the RFCs are only suggestions, and even if they were enforced there
  40. could still be buggy implementations.

  42. it goes to confirm my suspicion that all this new technology is just
  43. making our lives more difficult.  1/4 :-)  it's time the whole infernal
  44. email system was scrapped and rebuilt.
