- I've written a disk sounder commodity and everything works fine, but
- after upgrading to dos 2.1, I've encountered a slight problem.
- If i've mounted pc0: or pc1: two diskinserted or diskremoved messages are
- sent for every disk put in the drive (one for df0: and one for pc0: I guess)
- I've never noticed this problem before and I was using IBM disk readers
- (messy dos, an older Cross Dos and one other that escapes me at the moment).
- I have a few ideas on how to fix this problem, basically trying to decide where
- the insert came from and ignoring some of them. Is there any easy way to
- get pc0: to stop sending disk inserted messages?
- My real question is how you feel about the two messages. It seems incorrect
- for both df0: and pc0: to be sending disk inserted messages since only one disk
- was inserted into one physical device. pc0: is "piggy-backing" onto df0: and
- I think is sould written to be aware of that and left df0: handle all the
- message sending. Can there ever be a situation where pc0: is mounted and
- df0: isn't? Am I missing the big picture (maybe something with removable
- cartridge drives)?
- Thanks for any info!
