- First a note on the line you quoted from my posting above: This should apply
- to *programmers* and not users, so using topaz8 ist not bad/wrong. But writing a
- program, which *restricts* the user to use topaz8 is really horrible!

- On to your question: After changing anything in the FONTS: directory, you must
- run FixFonts (from System drawer). I also agree that the fonts supplied on
- the Workbench are either awful or are designed for use with hires interlaced
- screens (such as Helvetica). Anyway, most fonts are proportional. System font
- (for Shell windows etc.) can only be monospaced.

- If you really like the old 1.3 topaz8, you can simple start FED (FontED, from
- your 1.3 WB), "load" the topaz8 font, and save it to disk under a different name.
- Of course, you must running Kickstart 1.3 for this to work.
